Pae Ake Independence Licenses

 

These are based around the 4 Riverdale Nga Matapono (Our Beliefs).  

 

• Competent

• Creative

• Self Manager

• Effective Communicator

To ensure the children have a clear understanding of what each of these beliefs are and how they can demonstrate these in their learning they have unpacked these in class.  A list of how to earn a pin has been created together and is on display in both Pae Ake Blue and Pae Ake Green.

 

As children practise and demonstrate growth in the different areas they earn ‘pins’.  These will be shown as tally marks next to their names.   

 

Pins earned demonstrate independence and trustworthiness, so the more pins you earn the higher your License Level will be.

There are corresponding rewards for each License Level.  These will be developed with the children as the year goes on.
