Hook - Engaging the learner in the topic. Why are we learning about this now? With this group of students?

Wonder - What do we need to know to complete the task or act? What questions do we have?

Explore - Looking at a range of sources of information learners start to gather knowledge and develop their understanding of the inquiry topic.

Reflect - Stop and think. Look back at the original questions. What do we know now? Do we have more questions? How can we share what we know? With whom? For what purpose?

Act - Decide on the appropriate action. Who needs to know this information? Why? What is the best way to communicate our learning? How will this make a difference in our lives and/or the lives of others?
